Attention: BMD Users

Have you noticed that ever since the last update BMD has this Special Feature – SOUND ALERT ?!

If you haven’t already know, do check out this feature. This feature lets me multi-task with peace of mind. A real cool feature indeed.

So, where’s this Feature hiding?

Check out the Preferences Button under Expert Mode.

How Does It Work?

Basically, upon activating this feature, I went ahead to do a creation of accounts in the Social Bookmarking Sites and after clicking the “Create Now” button, I went back to continue writing my blog post. And then, amazingly, I heard a pleasant door bell sound, alerting that I need to enter a CAPTCHA.

This feature is previously NOT available. Therefore, its really a nice surprise for me indeed.

When BMD finished creating all the accounts, it alerts me again, this time, I hear a pleasant ringing sound, telling me BMD has done necessary.

On the next instance I run BMD, the same ringing sound and a little pop-up appears in my systray, alerting me that Bookmarking Demon has finished its initial start-up. That’s a pleasant surprise too.

Have you ever tried googling your own name?

What does it show on the first page of the results?

Is it something Positive or is it something Negative about you? Or is that not even you, but someone else having the same name? Or you just found out your friends had uploaded one of your most embarrassing photos on the Internet?

If you are active in the Internet, and you used your real name in everything you do, it is very easy to track you down just by googling your name. If you have a MySpace, Facebook, Twitter; people can easily know your interests, how you look like, what do you do for a living.

For Internet Marketers, it is common to see people using their very own name for Personal Branding, especially so when they are in the Coaching Business. Since they are already using their own name in the Coaching Business, it is good to have a MySpace, Facebook, Twitter or whatever pages to dominate first 2 pages of Google’s search results.

But do use with care, Internet Marketers using their own name have to ensure they keep up with their “Goody” image with their carefully harvested list of followers so that they do not lose them overnight. If they engage in scams or found to be engaged in any undesirable internet marketing activities, you will be sure to see it broadcasted all over the Internet.

If you perform a Google search and realised that the damage is done, you will need to do damage control by overloading Google with lots of good stuff. And I mean a LOT.

Recently, out of curiosity as to why I keep getting bookmarking “errors” (failure to submit bookmarks) for some of the social bookmarking sites using BMD, I tried to do some manual bookmark submission myself.

I noticed that some social bookmarking sites reject squidoo and hubpages url, while some social bookmarking sites reject certain keywords I had used, and some others reject my bookmarks when they exceed a certain character limit for the description portion, while some sites make the “tags” field a mandatory field.

Nowadays, some of Scuttle, ScuttlePlus and Pligg sites tend to go Out Of Action for couple of days and back again, while some never came back. Some of the sites do not seem to come back alive again… Its a sea of changes everywhere, so if anyone wishes to share such information, please feel free to let me know, I will give a link back in return for the information.
