Have you ever tried googling your own name?

What does it show on the first page of the results?

Is it something Positive or is it something Negative about you? Or is that not even you, but someone else having the same name? Or you just found out your friends had uploaded one of your most embarrassing photos on the Internet?

If you are active in the Internet, and you used your real name in everything you do, it is very easy to track you down just by googling your name. If you have a MySpace, Facebook, Twitter; people can easily know your interests, how you look like, what do you do for a living.

For Internet Marketers, it is common to see people using their very own name for Personal Branding, especially so when they are in the Coaching Business. Since they are already using their own name in the Coaching Business, it is good to have a MySpace, Facebook, Twitter or whatever pages to dominate first 2 pages of Google’s search results.

But do use with care, Internet Marketers using their own name have to ensure they keep up with their “Goody” image with their carefully harvested list of followers so that they do not lose them overnight. If they engage in scams or found to be engaged in any undesirable internet marketing activities, you will be sure to see it broadcasted all over the Internet.

If you perform a Google search and realised that the damage is done, you will need to do damage control by overloading Google with lots of good stuff. And I mean a LOT.
