In this topic, I’ll talk about how to create new accounts in BMD. I’ll also cover how to create accounts using random usernames. To add on, I’ll also share how you can manage the accounts that you have created.
Remember in Lesson 2 you setup your email accounts? In this lesson, you will make use of the email accounts you created in Lesson 2 to create user accounts in the bookmarking sites.
Note: BMD only allows you to create 1 account for each site at a time. If you have a lot of accounts to create, you can get a virtual assistant to help you.
Steps to creating account:
1) Select the bookmarking sites that you wish to create an account in by selecting/ticking it under “Social Bookmarking Sites” section.
2) Click on the “Create Accounts” button on the toolbar
3) Enter the user account details of the new account that you are going to create.
Note: Some bookmarking sites only allow username of between 4 and 15 characters long to be created. So, keep your usernames within that range for better success rate in account creation. Also, avoid strange characters like $%^& in your usernames. Simply use alphanumeric characters in usernames.
SPECIAL: Create random usernames in the selected sites.
What do I mean?
I want to create an account for the following sites: Digg.com, Mister-wong.com, Linkagogo.com. However, I want different usernames to be created in each of them.
Oh. How do I do that?
To create different usernames across all selected bookmarking sites, you will need to fill in a list of comma separated usernames in the Username field when creating account.
E.g.
“Apple, Orange, Kiwi, Cranberry, Banana”
in the Username field, BMD will be instructed to randomly pick a username from the specified list and create an account in the respective sites. Note that only 1 account will be created in each selected site.
The result will look something like this:
Orange created in Digg.com
Cranberry created in Mister-wong.com
Apple created in Linkagogo.com
4) Click OK to start account creation.
Now, you have successfully created an account each in the selected list of bookmarking sites.
How do I add existing accounts that I have created outside of BMD?
Simply click on the site that you wish to add the existing account into, then click on the “Add Account” button on the toolbar.
Note: You are only able to add 1 existing account to 1 site at a time.
What if: I have many existing accounts to add to each site?
The solution is to make use of the Import Accounts wizard to import the list of existing accounts using a .CSV file.
Click on the “Import Accounts” button on the toolbar.
Now, how do I manage my accounts?
There are 2 ways to manage your accounts. They are:
- Right click on the account to “Edit/Disable/Delete/View Site Profile/View Bookmarking Activities”
- Click on “Manage Accounts” on the toolbar
This method is a centralized management area to manage all the accounts you have in the current project.
You are able to search for the accounts you wish to enable/disable, edit, delete, view site profile/view bookmarking activities and so on.
Tip: If you would like to disable a certain username across all sites, simply search for the account name, and choose “Disable All Accounts”.
