Now back to Internet Marketing, basically, there are 3 types of income you can earn from the Internet.
They are:
1) You sell Ad Space within your website (Google Adsense also falls under this catogory)
2) You sell other peoples’ products & services
3) You sell your own products & services
We have covered in the previous example on point 1 & 3, selling ad space in your website and selling own products and services, with selling own products and services the Most Lucrative, at least in my point of view.
In case you do not know what is Google Adsense, take a look at my image ads on my site, they all have the words “powered by Google”. If you would like to have Google Ads on your site, go to Google Adsense to register an account and start placing ads on your site.
For point 2, there is a term for selling other people’s products & services. It is called Affiliate Marketing. Another term is Business Associates. Affiliates’s commissions vary from a few percentage points to 2 digit percentage points. For information products like ebooks, it can be as high as 50% to 75%!
Example:
Jenny is approached by several parties who contacted her to ask if she offers an Affliate Program as they are interested to help sell her novel cupcakes as well. Jenny thought about it and decided to come up with an affliate program, offering 15% of the sale price of the product purchased for every sale referred by the affiliates.
The types of affiliate marketing payouts includes Pay Per Sale, Pay Per Lead, Pay Per Action.
(Info. is extracted from Wiki) Pay Per lead (PPL) is a method of marketing that enables an advertiser to receive membership or advertising services in return for paying per lead received from the marketing venue used. It can be compared to PPC (pay per click), PPS (pay per sale) and PPA (pay per action) advertising methods that require the advertiser to respectively pay for clicks, sales and actions generated through a marketing venue.
Pay Per Action (PPA) method will require certain actions to be done as stated in the advertisement. It could be a filling of a form, downloads a free trial, signs up for a newsletter etc.
Pay Per Click (PPC) – Google’s Adsense Program is on Pay Per Click basis.
In Jenny’s case, she has chosen the Per Per Sale type of payout to her affiliates.
